  • This Paper Consists of Verbal Ability: English grammar, verbal analogies, instructions, critical reasoning and verbal deduction,Sentence completion,Word groups.
Architecture and Planning
  • City planning:It refers to the technical and political process which is important with regard to the controlled use of land and plan of urban environment.It include topics- Evolution of cities; principles of city planning; types of new towns & cities; planning regulations and building by elaws; sustainable development, eco-city concept.
  • Housing:Social Problem of arranging compensation to members of society  and to have a home to live in.It include topics-Concept of housing; site planning principles;  neighbourhood concept ;housing typology; housing standards; housing policies, finance and management; housing infrastructure ;housing programs in India; self-help housing.
  • Landscape Design:An independent profession that is a design/plan and art tradition, combines nature and culture by designers of landscape.It include topics- Principles of landscape design and site planning; landscape elements and materials; history of landscape styles; plant characteristics & planting design; environmental considerations in landscape planning.
  • Computer Aided Design:Using computer systems in order to help in creating,modifying,detail study of a design/plan.It include topics- Application of computers in architecture and planning; computer graphics ;understanding elements of hardware and software; programming languages – C and Visual Basic and usage of packages such as 3D-Studio, AutoCAD, 3D Max.
  • Environmental Studies in Building Science:Analysis about the environment and various environmental conditions before planning.It include topics- Components of Ecosystem; ecological principles concerning environment; energy efficient building; de climate responsive design ;sign; thermal comfort; principles of lighting and styles for illumination; solar architecture; environment pollution, their control & abatement; basic principles of architectural acoustics.
  • Visual and Urban Design:Visual design is design work/or plan of  any media of visual communication.Urban design is the process of designing or planning of urban cities,villages etc.It include topics- Principles of visual composition; proportion, scale, symmetry, rhythm, harmony, balance, datum, form, colour, texture; sense of place and space, division of space; barrier free design, vista, image ability, focal point ;visual survey, figure-background relationship.
  • History of Architecture:It tells about the change in architecture through various traditions,regions etc.It include topics- Indian – Indus valley, Buddhist, Vedic, Indo-Aryan, Mughal and Dravidian periods; European –Greek, Egyptian, Roman, Medieval and renaissance periods- construction and architectural styles; Traditional and Vernacular architecture.
  • Development of Contemporary Architecture:It refers to the modern architecture.It include topics-Architectural developments and impacts on society since industrial revolution; influence of modern art on architecture; works of international and national architects; art novuea, eclecticism, post modernism, international styles ,deconstruction in architecture.
  • Building Services: It refers to internal environment and environmental marked effect of a building.It include topics-It refers to internal  Water supply, Drainage and sewage systems; sanitary fittings and fixtures; plumbing systems, principles of external & internal drainage systems, principles of electrification of buildings, elevators & escalators, their standards and uses; intelligent buildings ;air-conditioning systems; fire fighting systems, security systems and building safety.
  • Building Construction and Management:Techniques involved in building andmanagement of building.It include topics- Building construction techniques, details and methods; building systems and prefabrication of building elements; principles of modular coordination; estimation, valuation, specification, professional practice; project management techniques e.g., PERT, CPM etc
  • Materials and Structural Systems:It deals with the materials used and the type of structure needed.It include topics- Behavioural characteristics of all types of building materials e.g. of strength of materials; design of structural elements in wood, RCC and steel; elastic and limit state design; complex structural systems; tall buildings; principles of pre-stressing; principles of disaster resistant structures.
  • Planning Theory:Developing ideas for spatial Planning.It include topics- Regional planning; history of human settlements; settlement system planning; growth of cities & metropolises; rural-urban migration; principles of Ekistics; urban conservation; urban renewal; structural and sectoral plan; Five-year plan
  • Techniques of Planning:It refers to several Planning techniques.It include topics- Planning survey techniques; preparation of regional and urban structure plans, development plans, action plans; statistical methods of data analysis; site planning principles and design ;application of G.I.S and remote sensing techniques in regional and urban planning; decision making models.
  • Traffic and Transportation Planning:It refers to proper planning of transportation and traffic which is suppose to be done while urban planning .It include topics-Principles of  transportation planning and traffic engineering; traffic survey methods; design of roads, intersections, parking areas and grade separators; hierarchy of roads and levels of services; intelligent transportation system; traffic and transport management in urban areas; mass transportation planning; para-transits and other modes of transportation, pedestrian & slow moving traffic planning.
  • Infrastructure, Services and Amenities:Infrastructure refers to the buildings,Sevices are impalpable commodity and amenities are tactile or impalpable profits of a property.It include topics- Principles of water supply and sanitation systems; water treatment; waste treatment, solid waste disposal systems ;recycle & reuse; urban rainwater harvesting; power supply and communication systems —design, network & guidelines; demography related standards at various levels of the settlements for health, recreation, education, religious & public-semi public facilities.
